Thoughts about last night's gig (photos follow below the facts):
- Primo's at Lake Ray Hubbard is BEAUTIFUL - what an incredible setting w/the patio "on" the lake, the fans w/misters, the bar open to the patio, and of course the hot guests.
- Primo's personnel & management are very cool to work with.
- Primo's tamales are unbelievably delicious. Yum.
- My bandmates Jordache, Jamil & Nick are FANTASTIC & made me smile all night w/their awesome playing & professionalism. I can't help but turn around & grin when I hear, say, Jamil doing some cool, crispy little riff. How lucky can a chick singer BE!
- Shout out to Gilbert (aka DJ Titan) & Tristan at Guitar Center in Plano who helped me pick out the cool double-page mini-lights for my music stand. Those worked GREAT, and I was so glad to have bought the backup set, because it came in handy for Jordache when his light wasn't working right. Gilbert's helped me out on pretty much all my gear needs & has kicked butt each time. Always helpful, always friendly, never condescending, just a pleasure to work with!
- I still haven't managed to do a single gig w/out having a child ending up on my hip at some point of the evening. LOL Don't know why; maybe I'm just cuddly. Anyway, there's nothing funnier than watching very young kids dancing; they have no shame, they just don't give a sh*t! Just pure joy. Rock on, kiddos. Rock on.
- The place next door had a patio and got to have "free" live music. Everyone was turned our way watching & listening. HEY! They owe us & Primo's some DOUGH!
- We'll definitely do more of the funk tunes like the last 1/2 of the evening, per popular request, at our next gig there: Friday, September 25. Mark your calendar!
